DEWEY-HUMBOLDT—The members of the Dewey-Humboldt Little League (DHLL) board of directors are hosting a dinner and silent auction November 10 to raise money to build the Dewey-Humboldt Sports Complex, which will feature two regulation-size baseball fields at Highway 69 and milepost 278 in Dewey.
"Raising money for these fields is not just about present players," Statler said. "It's about honoring the league's past—it's the oldest league in Arizona—and laying a foundation for its future."
DHLL's immediate need is to raise $8,000 to relocate the electrical poles on the 5.2-acre site, which was donated to DHLL in 2002. The long-term goal is to raise an additional $130,000 to complete the excavation, improvements, and fencing necessary to meet Little League regulations.
To support the DHLL Field of Dreams, people can:
Buy tickets for the fundraising dinner and silent auction on November 10.
Donate items for the silent auction.
Offer in-kind donations.
Statler said the members of the league's board of directors are grateful for the support this project has received from businesses and individuals in the community, including: APS, Fann Contracting, JT's Septic, APS, Ace Hardware in Prescott Valley, Payton’s Place Floor and More, Leff-T’s Steak House and Grill, Lucky’s BBQ, and Safeway.People can send monetary donations to DHLL—which is a 501(c)3 organization—at P.O.
