61-year-old driver was heli-vacced to Phoenix.

Yesterday afternoon at about 12 PM Prescott Fire Dept. dispatch received multiple 911 calls for an overturned pick up truck in the 1300 block of S. Walker Rd. just above The Highlands Center for Natural History.

The initial arriving units on scene found a older model pick up truck that had lost control and went over the side of an embankment. The 61 year-old patient was unbelted in the pick up truck and sustained substantial injuries in the accident. The patient was placed in full spinal motion restriction secondary to his lower back pain.

It was then decided that the patient needed to be transferred to a level one trauma center. A helicopter was called in and and Walker Road was completely closed for about 15 minutes to facilitate the transfer. He was flown down to John C. Lincoln hospital Deer Valley for further treatment.
