Fatal Overdose

On Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 4:41PM, Prescott Valley Police officers were dispatched to the 8400 block of East Leigh Drive in Prescott Valley concerning a report of an 18 year old male not breathing. Upon arrival, officers observed a male, later identified as 18 year old Jared Friederick laying on the floor of his residence. He was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Officers immediately conducted appropriate first aid procedures until Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) arrived on scene and took over medical treatment. Jared was then transported to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus in Prescott Valley Arizona where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigation at the residence indicated that the use of illegal drugs was possibly responsible for this incident.  The Partners Against Narcotic Trafficking (PANT) Task Force was called to the scene and took over the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, two arrests were made.

Arrested and charged for multiple possessions of narcotics for sale and possessions of drug paraphernalia, both felonies, were 18 year old Rick Alexander Arellano and 18 year old Lester James Suter. Both were booked into Yavapai County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
