Prescott Valley - It may not sound that unusual to say that Habitat for Humanity is building a house. After all, that’s what they do.
This home, however, is a little different. During the Yavapai County Contractors Association Home Show at the Prescott Valley Events Center, teams of volunteers are working on a house right in the parking lot. The foundation was already built, and throughout the weekend, they will add the walls, trusses and a roof. After that, it will be moved to a lot in Prescott Valley to be completed.
But first, a little fun, as the Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) went up against Central Yavapai Fire Department (CYFD) in an epic “Nail-Off” event. Suffice it to say that if you’re building something important, you may want to seek assistance from a member of the CYFD before asking your friendly local PVPD officer. There were several bent nails in evidence during this event.
The home, which is the 84th built in the quad-city area by Habitat for Humanity, is being built for a single mom and her two kids.
