This year marks the 129th year of buckin’ and ropin’ for cowboys from all over the world, and it promises to be the best yet!
The schedule starts Tuesday night (yes, tonight!) at 7:30 PM. Performances continue on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 7:30. Saturday is a busy day, with the Frontier Days Parade starting at 9 AM, a rodeo matinee at 1:30 PM and another rodeo event at 7:30 PM. But, that’s not all, because there’s one more evening performance on Sunday at 7:30 PM and the final matinee performance on Monday, the 4th of July at 1:30.
Of course, that’s not all that’s happening this week. Several other events are taking place:
Tuesday, June 28, 5 PM: Happy Hearts Rodeo
Thursday - Saturday, June 30-July 2, 8 PM - 1 AM: Rodeo Dance will be held at the BMO Harris Bank Parking Lot at 303 N. Montezuma, Prescott. Zona Road will be the band and it should be a fun time for all.
All kinds of cuteness will be on display on Friday, July 1, at 9 AM with the 75th annual Kiwanis Kiddie Parade.
The Prescott Frontier Days Parade is the 2nd largest in Arizona (only the Fiesta Bowl Parade is larger), and not one to miss. Over 200 entries will be participating. Come early, parking can be a challenge, and bring your chair, hat and water. Tanya Tucker - yes, that Tanya Tucker! - is this year’s Grand Marshall, and will also offer the National Anthem at the 7:30 rodeo performance. The Parade starts at 9 AM on Saturday, July 2nd, in downtown Prescott.
Sunday, July 3, is the best church service of the year - Cowboy Church takes place in the rodeo stands and all are welcome to join this time of praise and worship. Starts at 8:30 AM.
Now it’s easier than ever to follow the Prescott Frontier Days happenings at the Rodeo Grounds, with their new app. You can purchase your tickets through the app, and make sure you don’t miss a single thing!
