Right now, if you want to fly to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from Prescott, you have two flights to choose from in each direction. But that will soon change, as Great Lakes has announced a new flight schedule between Prescott and LAX which includes 4 daily flight options. The new schedule is set to begin on November 1, just in time for the holidays.
From Prescott to LAX, the new times are:
Leaving Prescott @ 6:20 AM arriving at LAX @ 7:55 AM
Leaving Prescott @ 8:20 AM arriving at LAX @ 9:55 AM
Leaving Prescott @ 1:12 PM arriving at LAX @ 2:47 PM
Leaving Prescott @ 2:00 PM arriving at LAX @ 3:35 PM
From LAX to Prescott, the new times are:
Leaving LAX @ 9:40 AM arriving at Prescott @ 12:12 PM
Leaving LAX @ 11:40 AM arriving at Prescott @ 2:12 PM
Leaving LAX @ 3:00 PM arriving at Prescott @ 5:32 PM
Leaving LAX @ 5:30 PM arriving at Prescott @ 8:02 PM
(If it appears to be taking a longer time to fly from LAX than from Prescott, that has to do with Daylight Saving Time changes.)
According to Airport Manager John Cox, this is a great benefit to the community because it, “Provides additional service per the demand of the region, adding to the convenience based upon when they fly into Los Angeles and when they return.”
According to Cox, the flight is on a Beechcraft 1900, which offers 9 seats per flight.
"I'm looking forward to the service starting... I think it's going to be a win-win for everybody," Mayor Harry Oberg said.
Prices typically start at $90 for a non-refundable one-way ticket.
