PUSD Approves their budget.
You won’t be able to use the Bashford Court North-South Alley until after 4:30 today.  The alley is closed while new trash compactors are installed and electricity is connected.   The closure is between the East-West Alley and Yavapai Title on Montezuma Street.  Two way traffic will be allowed between that business and Willis Street.  The City of Prescott and contractor Earth Resources Corporation have been working on improvements to the alleys behind the Bashford Courts Atrium Mall on Gurley Street, as well as the intersection of Willis and Cortez Streets to Montezuma.  In addition, new asphalt pavement has been installed throughout the entire project area.  City officials say these improvements have significantly improved stormwater drainage, provided upgraded water and sewer utilities and increased overall safety for the Bashford Courts parking lot.

The Prescott Unified School District Board has the 2019 Budget in place.  On Tuesday night, Board members adopted the more than 26 million dollar budget, an increase from the nearly 24 million dollar Fiscal Year 2018 Budget.  Chief Financial Officer Brian Moore describes one of the highlights of the new budget. Moore explains an important part of forming the budget is looking at the amount of carry forward funds. One major project the District is looking at is improving technology in the classrooms.
