PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona Suns announced today that they will play their lone preseason game of the 2018-19 campaign at the South Bay Lakers.
The two teams will meet for a preseason matchup for the third straight year, this time on Oct. 27 at 12 p.m. PDT at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, California.
As part of a home-and-home agreement, the Suns hosted the Lakers (the Los Angeles D-Fenders at the time) at the Prescott Valley Event Center in 2016-17, and played against South Bay at the UCLA Health Training Center last year. The two teams have agreed to another home-and-home preseason set, with a NAZ Suns’ hosted preseason contest slated for 2019-20.
Last year, three NAZ Suns, who later spent considerable time in a Phoenix Suns jersey, excelled. Alec Peters recorded 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting and seven rebounds, Josh Gray tallied 22 points and nine assists, while Shaquille Harrison notched 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. The Lakers won the game 120-116.
The Suns begin the regular season at the Prescott Valley Event Center on Nov. 3 against the Santa Cruz Warriors.
